Will most likely try my luck there first. I too have had regular prints done at costco in the past and they do have great photo processing equipment and customer service. I will take both an original and an upsized version to the store and just see if I can get a knowledgable rep to give me the the info on which one gives best results or which they prefer to use. Only 12x18, but they look perfect to my untrained eye. I have had some great shots done from those machines at Wal-Mart from my D40. Costco has the best return/customer service policy on the planet! They have taken a broken DS Lite that my kid droped (obvious it was broken from the fall) back! Amazing!Įdit: Oh yea, I'm taking a D40 shot to costco this weekend for a large print.at least a 12x18 or something larger. You can ask the costco person what machine they are using.and compare that to the Ritzs, labs.etc.Īlso, I suspect (not 100% sure) that if you did one print and did not like the result, you can get your money back. I've hear a good number of people that has used costco for large prints and they are very happy with them.but in the end, one person's "eye" on the pic may be different that another. I would not discount them-no pun intended. Printed in an hour and cheaper than Costco.Ĭostco has equipment that is modern, commercial, and efficient. I've made posters at Sam's Club and was VERY impressed at the quality. I like, never tried a poster size, though. I had printed 16x20 from my D50 (6mp) and If not- just do it yourself.įrom experience I know, that you should be fine with 20x30 from D80. If you would like to leave to the lab- got to photo lab, real lab. I personally wouldn't rely on Staples or Costco to resample. May cost slightly more than Costco or Staples, but well worth it. I would recommend, however, that you have a dedicated photo lab, such as Ritz Camera, do the work for you. I have had 20x30 prints done, with pictures that were not cropped or retouched, out of my D40, yes, with 6 megapixels. Its not horribly expensive and I doubt if it didn't upscale nicely, it would turn out bad. If someone doesn't come back with a good response, you could bite the bullet and try it out. If you can upscale your 20x30 yourself, and happy with the results, I recommend that. I know it doesn't help the 20x30 problem, but there up-scaling looked fine to me. I haven't printed 20x30, but I can say everything I have printed looks great. Originally posted at 1:35PM, 8 October 2008 PDT Has anyone done this using services like Staples or Costco with your D80 photos? If so I'd be curious to hear about your results and your approach to the problem. I have programs to do the job (Qimage or PhotoZoom Pro) but i'm not sure which option would give the best print quality at the end of it all. My question is: Should I upsize and resample the image to that size before sending it to them or do they have software that takes care of this at their end? The native 10mp image is obviously not going to give me killer dpi at that size. I'm looking to get a poster done (20x30) possibly of one of my D80 photos. I'm sure others can give a more detailed critique than me, but I hope this helped. Otherwise, everything else is perfect in my perspective. This includes the pink and blue on the fourth character. I suggest brightening it more and dulling/darkening the rest of the character more, just to make that one specific characteristic bolder. 3 The third photo of your character, just by looking at it I know the red horn is something that is unique to them self as a character. Last thing may not be as important as the other 2, but it's emphasis. Shading the body is really easy to get the hang of, you just have to do the same thing you do to the hair. I know how hard it is to shade the body, but trust me when I say how easy it is after you do it for the first time (because it really is). This is my first video on pony town and i decided to make a skin tipstutorial video :D I hope you like it little. 2 I also noticed a common thing among your characters, which is the lack of body shading. I understand that outlines are usually used to indicate a light or shine, but it's usually balanced with some darker outlines. 1 As far as I've noticed, your characters all have very light outlines. I do see that you've experimented on highlights and outlines a little. Sugar-coated critique: Those are wonderful cosplays, they're one of the most amazing ones I've seen so far. Google has also released Drive File Stream, an application which allows files to be streamed in real-time to your desktop ensuring that bandwidth and hard drive space usage are kept at a minimum.įor our Google Workspace customers, we highly recommend Drive File Stream over Drive Backup & Sync as we believe it is a superior product, especially if using Google Workspace Business or Google Workspace Enterprise where you have access to shared drives (previously called team drives). Backup & Sync can be a great offsite backup solution for your computers if used correctly. Backup and Sync syncs files more traditionally, placing local copies on your desktop, and then backing them up in the cloud. Perhaps the Rec Tec was thrown off by the fact that I had run it at 400 and then took it down low so the barrel probably had a lot more leftover heat in it whereas the chicken cooled the cooking area down a lot. A temp differential doesn’t worry me per se, it was more that the differential changed that had me scratching my head. Always appreciate the thoughts and input. Not getting much smoke out of it, but still came out good and not soggy skin. I have not watched it for awhile, but it was something like completely dry racked chicken in fridge and then dusting with baking powder before cooking high heat. You could smell it across the house as soon as I opened the jug of mix haha. I somehow thought it was 3 hours of low smoke. I know i was following a buddy's chex mex recipe once and he said he left it on low and stirred it for an hour and then let it rest for a couple hours before bagging. Chicken isn't going to grab that much smoke though. If you want more smoke, just run a longer period of low temps. The oven dial thing just sat there at ~225. My prob was reading 225 and then down to 200 and sometimes up to 250 and down to 200. The pellet grills run in waves, on and idle and on and idle. I bought some cheap oven thermometers from Amazon to keep what I feel is a more accurate reading. Probes are always a bit off when I was testing my pellet too. I know a common issue is the Rec Tec RTD probe being too close to the smoker - not an issue here, straight up and down. No food was touching the thermoworks probe (probably about 2" from any food), but the Rec Tec probe is off to the side without any food around. I can't recall the peak temp it got to, but the thermoworks seemed to remain about 30-50 degrees below the grill.Īny ideas why they would have matched at first but then have been off that much during cooking? The only thing I can think of is that the thermoworks probe was in the middle of the unit, between food on the grill which could have been affecting the neighboring temp. Then once the meat was close to done, I cranked that sucker to full 600. Figuring I didn't want to cook THAT low, I cranked the heat up after about half an hour to 300 and the thermoworks went to ~250. When I dropped the temp down to do 225, the grill was showing 225 but the thermoworks was showing ~185-200. Any my wife liked the not-overpowering smoke flavor.įor the initial burn-in, The grill showed 400, but my thermoworks smoke showed 385-405 depending where I put it. Second, it was soooo nice to smell the wood burning fire while it was cooking and also to not have to worry about futzing with a charcoal grill. I guess there's no real way to get nice direct heat on these - or at least not as nice as a gas grill. I need to figure out my grill but here are a few observations so far:įirst, when I needed to put a good crisp on the skin at the end, I wound up having to fire up my Weber Gasser. I had some marinated chicken that I was going to cook and the recipe called for 225 for 90 minutes followed by a high-temp sear. So I fired that girl up and let her run at 400 for over an hour to burn her in. I made two calls to customer service and it was great to be able to reach somebody on a saturday. So I got my Rec Tec 700 out of the box and set up today. Do not send mods messages, to their personal inboxes.
Out-of-pocket expenses can include money you spent on credit freezes or credit monitoring, postage, faxes, mileage, and telephone charges. Step 6: Under Cash Payment, you can request reimbursement for up to $20,000 in losses, but you will need to document those expenses, except for any credit monitoring by Equifax that you paid for. "And, of course, include the time you spent filling out the claim," Lacey adds. If you had to make a trip to the bank or another financial institution, that travel time counts, too. That may include not only time spent talking to a representative from a bank or a credit card company, but also time spent waiting on hold. The form asks you to supply the total amount of time spent on each task, the month and year, and a brief description of the task. For time beyond that, you must include supporting documents showing that your personal data was misused. The first 10 hours require only a description of the time spent. Step 5: In Section 2, you can request reimbursement for up to $500 (20 hours at $25 per hour) for time spent managing accounts affected by the breach. "If you can use other services, take the $125," says Lacey.įor consumers skeptical about accepting the credit monitoring, Lacey explains, "it's not Equifax doing the work it's their competitors doing it on their behalf." There's no requirement to submit a receipt. It can be free credit monitoring through an employer or a financial institution. To get the cash, you must certify that you have credit monitoring and will keep it for six months. If the answer is yes, click on File a Claim Today toward the top of the page. After entering your last name and the last six digits of your Social Security number, you'll instantly get an answer about whether your data was exposed and you're eligible to make a claim. Then scroll down to "Find Out if Your Information Was Impacted" and click on that link. Step 1: Use this link to access the claim process. Here's a step-by-step run-through of the online application process. If you simply spent time researching your options and locking down your accounts, you can make a less detailed claim that will provide you with a little cash, plus free credit card monitoring and identity theft restoration services. If you were the victim of identity theft and it cost you a significant amount of money, it makes sense to gather the receipts and other supporting documents required for a claim that approaches the $20,000 individual limit. The best approach to the claim process depends on the extent of your losses. She notes that consumers can claim up to $375 ($250 for time spent and $125 for current credit monitoring) without providing any documentation. "People feel they have to have all this information, but that's not necessarily the case," says Charity Lacey, vice president of communications for the Identity Theft Resource Center, a California-based consumer organization. In a Monday press conference, the FTC announced that consumers would be able to report some credit monitoring expenses and the time they spent resolving issues raised by the breach without having to submit receipts or other records. |
